Forwarded that latest snake bite treatment to the outdoorsmen in the family,
and got this back from a nephew:
"I read an article in
Outdoor Life magazine a while back that was talking
about mild shock around the bite to neutralize the
venom. From what it said, our tissue has a positive
charge and venom has a negative charge, hence a
reaction. The mild shock (from a low setting on a
stun gun or even hooking your jumper cables up to your
battery -- or even an electric fence), a positive
charge I suppose, makes the venom become positively
charged giving it no effect on our tissue. It was
interesting. I don't know about you, but I usually
don't carry a stun gun or jumper cables with a battery
in to the woods with me. You?"
Whatd'ya think, Oben. Jumper cables and a six pack for anti-venom?
