Noticed the shallow DOF of the 50/1.2 with some close-ups I was taking of
wildflowers up on Mt. Rainier last weekend. Was using Kodachrome 64, so used
wider apertures. Focused on 1 flower, say, in the center of a small clump.
Those a few inches away would be out of focus. Sometimes that is what I
wanted. Other times, it wasn't, but couldn't be helped. Curious to see how
they turn out. Had a lady friend along so didn't want to take the time to
take copious notes of it all. Next time I will, lady friend or not. Got my
priorities straight: 1) learn my OMs; 2) women.
