Thanks to all for the marvelous responses. Dave, your research is greatly
appreciated. An un-asked question was answered as well, which probably was
what had me confused about the linear/circular effects on meter accuracy.
It's the spot metering that is most affected by the linear polorizer. So, if
I use a linear model, stick to average metering in auto mode, I'm ok. (+/-)

There's no way to use spot metering in flash mode, so I don't have to worry
about triggering that problem with the meter. I'll have to experiment a
bit. You've probably guessed that I have a linear model kicking around in my
kit. I had thought that it might be useful to force some fill flash
applications where it's hard to get the shutter speed at or below 1/60s. Of
course, then more flash output is needed, and the darkened viewfinder comes
into play. But that's ok. Knowing this allows me to either control the
situation or adapt to it.

So why am I curious about what I can do with this polorizer? I just got a
35-105 Zuiko and have fallen in love all over again. It lives on the OM-4T
now and is very happy. The only other lens I have that the polorizer fits is
my Vivitar 75-205 3.5 (a fine lens in its own right). I've never used the
filter before. I used to use a 49mm linear on my 35 3.5, 50 1.4 and 135 3.5,
but they took a rest when the Tamron 28-200 came along while I used an
OM-10. Well, the Tamron is resting comfortably now, hoping to relocate. All
the Zuiks are out and happy again. I took one of my all time favorite
photographs yesterday at Longwood Gardens (in Kennett Square, PA USA) with
the 35-105 lens. If anyone is familiar with Thomas Kinkade's "The Garden of
Prayer", I think I've found that gazebo!

Well anyway, enough blabbering here. Time for bed. Thanks a lot folks!
