While not strictly relating to Jim's questions, do others think that Olympus
made a design error in the OM-4 (please forgive me for the suggestion!) when
they had the viewfinder LCD backlight turn itself off immediately after taking
a flash picture? It
means if the ambient light is very low you can't see the OVER or UNDER
indications without rapidly hitting the button.
(Or perhaps my pre-Ti OM-4 is faulty?)

Is it normal for the OM3 LCD to react as follows :
1)Off in the B mode
2)When you select a shutter speed after the B mode, you need to press the
shutter release to re-activte the LCD.
3)the flash ready uses power from the flash and not from the camera.
4)it disappears in a split second each time the shutter is released whereas
the LCD of the OM-4-Ti will remain stable.
