Hello Bill and all.
I have three Zuiko 200 mms: 200 f 4 MC black, 200 f 5 SC crome and 200 f 5
MC black.
After a lot of tests shooting different objets, landscapes, etc, etc on a
tripod, directly and with the mirror up and diaphragm closed, I think the
best lens is the little 200 f 5 MC on f 11-16 and very close on quality the
bigest 200 f 4 MC on the same f 11-16. (Surprise!, as happens with the Zuiko
65-200 and the Zuiko 85-250 on 200 mms foc. lenght. the best aperture is f
11-16).
When I say "best lens" I want to talk about flare, colour rendition,
vibrations, and , of course, definition and contrast. (Concerning
vibrations-shake the worse on 200 mms is the Zoom 65-200).
(All the lenses are Mint, the 65-200 and 200 f 5 SC, Mint-).
Here on Spain, with Provia 100 F, I shot 200 mms f 11-16 on 60 or 125.
It is only my opinion and experience.
Ángel Lobo.
