My most recent 50mm/1.4 SN is 1086xxx. When I use a point source halogen
light I get separate and distinct reflections in different colors and at
different depths. From the front: lavender and aqua, lavender, purple,
amber, red, red, green and yellow. From the back are green, yellow, green.
My 50/1.4 silver nose with SN 395xxx reflects, from the front: amber,
yellow, red. yellow, red, blue, and lavender. From the back is blue,
lavender, yellow, lavender, blue, red.
Were they coated the same on the front and back? I was also surprised to
discover that my 24/2.8 and 50/1/4 were marked f=xx/x.x while the 50/1.8
was marked just xx/x.x. Any other lenses marked unusually?

Yikes. I don't know how to tell for sure either. I have a 50/1.4 s/n
1007xxx. It reflects bright green and bright purple. Fainter sort of gold
reflection as well.
Green/Violet/Red
with green being predominate.
