I had seen this download on MacUpdate, but was put off by the "LE"
suffix. With your recommendation I will choose an early morning to
download (a time when our chums across the Atlantic are asleep in
bed, off their Internet connections :>).

There is a limited edition of Corel Paint for the Mac that is
supposed to very UNlimited that is large, but free download from the
Corel web site. Corel Paint is a suite which includes their version
of Photoshop.
