Thanks John, I've taken the bottom section off and the contacts have a fair
amount of corrosion, but fortunately the switch contacts are corrosion free
only a
bit dirty.
By the way, what material is that battery casing made from, I assumed it was
metal, but this winder has a lot of wear and it looks like dark brown plastic
under
the paint.
