Recently in Vancouver a new immigrant who had been a dentist in his own
country was killed while "boiling" some mercury. Seems he had a history of
playing with the stuff all the time. Unfortunately he was in a basement
suite in an apartment building and the local health authorities determined
there had been mercury contamination as a result of his endeavours - net
result the whole building had to be evacuated and is still empty several
weeks later.
