This is true, but the F5 is an "electronic" camera, one would have thought
the FM3a could have been made as the F5 in manual.

N*k*n wants you to buy a F5 if you need those "advanced" features like
mirror lock-up. I'm sure they did research and figured out what features
they could offer on the FM3a and still maintain the desirability of the F5.
