Is there film in the camera? A lens mounted? Must be for auto to work
properly. What are you set to for it to shoot at 1 second? Does the
shutter speed scale in the viewfinder read a much higher number and the
shutter stays open for 1 second?

| Hi all, I'm new on the list. I have both an OM1 and and OM4. I have been
| having lock up problems with the OM4. Has anyone else had these
| problems? It seems to want to shoot everything at longer than 1 second!,
| even when it's bright and sunny. Before I send it off thought I'd check
| and see if it's a common OM4 problem.
