Well, all I can add is that I used to own a black OM-1 (non-MD), so they
must have existed.

Here my question:
I have a black MD with the old film-pressure-plate (is that the right word?)
with the two gaps for the screws and it has the eyepiece with the glass only
about 1 mm deep. So Frank Timmann told me, it was an very early OM1 (without
MD) that was changed by Olympus to MD. But it´s black????
