: I have never found an Olympus OM at Goodwill either, but last week I bought
: a Rolleicord for $39 at a Goodwill. It is from 1936.... Had an old, old
: steel 120 "sprocket" in the camera from way back.... I'd bet it hasn't been
: used in 30 years.. I just got back a roll of film from it, and it works
: perfectly. Doesn't need the slightest CLA.
:
:
: I also feel that everyone who appreciates the Olympus OM line owes it to
: themself to buy, or borrow a Rolleicord or Rolleiflex for a while. It
: changes the way you think about taking photos.....the whole process is just
: enjoyable. They can be had for the same price as a 100/2.8, and they are
: incredibly well made, great to use, and just fun, fun, fun.
Yesterday I saw a very nice Rolleicord kit and am now tempted. It all looked
mint, NIB. Even the original box of the camera was included, an everready case,
a boxed teleconverter pair, about two dozen of boxed filters, two old
lightmeters (I think they were included). The camera was one of the later
versions I believe (IV or V). They wanted Hfl. 575 ($234) for it. Is that a good
price? What are the major differences between Rolleicords and Rolleiflexes? I
know the latter were much more expensive, but also much more better? How usable
are the built-in lightmeters from 30+ year old TLR's?
