I have never found an Olympus OM at Goodwill either, but last week I bought
a Rolleicord for $39 at a Goodwill. It is from 1936.... Had an old, old
steel 120 "sprocket" in the camera from way back.... I'd bet it hasn't been
used in 30 years.. I just got back a roll of film from it, and it works
perfectly. Doesn't need the slightest CLA.
I also feel that everyone who appreciates the Olympus OM line owes it to
themself to buy, or borrow a Rolleicord or Rolleiflex for a while. It
changes the way you think about taking photos.....the whole process is just
enjoyable. They can be had for the same price as a 100/2.8, and they are
incredibly well made, great to use, and just fun, fun, fun.
It's even more nostalgic when I drive my 1956 VW Beetle, accompanied by my
1936 Rolleicord.
James.
