Crazy glue will get into the spring loaded contacts in the shoe and make
them non-working. Then the shoe will break again along the same line that
was glued.

Subject: [OM] T-32 Foot crack
|
| So, I had a chance to buy a near-mint T-32 and snapped it up even though
| I've bought another one from a member of this list. Problem with the near
| mint guy is that the foot that slips into the camera shoe is cracked. Now,
I
| know that if I insert and remove carefully, or wire it up to use off
camera,
| this won't pose much a problem, but still . . . I was thinking of
injecting
| some SuperGlue into the crack then sanding off any excess so that the foot
| will be a little less vulnerable to arbitrary breakage than it is now. My
| sense looking at the unit is that these feet are not replaceable. (If I'm
| wrong, someone let me know, okay?) Is the SuperGlue fix reasonable? I
| understand this is not an uncommon problem with these flash units, so I'm
| wondering what the standard fix is, if there is one?
|
| Thanx!

| P.S. A while back there was some discussion about levels inserted into
flash
| shoes and whether they actually were level in the OM. Was this ever
| resolved?
