If nobody has recomended it already, the Castleton area is not so
well known, except among climbers. The Castleton tower is that finger of rock
that appeared in truck ads some years back with some great SUV sitting on top
(and maybe a breatless babe or hunk?). ( Mandatory SUV topic. ) It is not too
far from up river from Moab as far as I remember. The hike up to the base is
definately worth while and driving up the valley past the tower on secondary
roads gives great photographic oportunities, espeically in the evening light.
If you are a rock climber it is a great rock climb (5.9) with spectacular
views of the other needles in the area.
