As I have been unable to find a 28/2 rubber lens hood, (but I do have a
metal) I have started trying a 28/2.8 lens hood... I find the rubber hoods
to be a smaller chance of damage to the lens through a knock...... Anyway,
is there any reason why the 28/2.8 hood won't be fine? It isn't designed
for the lens, but I've tested it, and...
Here's how I tested it: Iset the lens to f/16, and focussed as close as the
lens will focus... Then I took a picture of the sky. I figure that the
above f/stop and focus combination would give the most vignetting... If
there is no vignetting in the negative, it is a good combo, to my
reasoning....
So why are the 28/2 and 28/2.8 hoods slightly different?
Is anyone using a 28/2.8 hood on a 28/2? Any ideas?
Thanks, james.
