Some working pros used to be GIVEN their equipment by the manufacturer so
they could be seen with it. I don't know if this is still the practice.

Subject: [OM] life span of OM's
| In my opinion, I don't think there are too many professional photographers
on
| this list that rely on photography for their livelihood. Almost every
piece
| of Olympus equipment I have bought used, looks new........ So how many
people
| really use it, as opposed to talking about the equipment? I don't take as
many
| photos as I would like, but after a year, most of my camera equipment
shows
| signs of wear, and I am careful with it.
|
| I guess it's like record collecting: buying a 50 year old vinyl
record....
| it still sounds good.... Maybe it hasn't been used much in the last 50
years....
| it'll go 'round and 'round my record player for as long as I want it to.
|
| Olympus OM cameras will work well enough (outlast us) for 990f us, as
much
| as we use them.... in my opinion.
