I've been watching the Tamron 300 2.8's for awhile and two of these four
are on their 2nd or 3rd go around in the past couple of months. I made
an off ebay offer on one of the lenses after it recieved no bids over 5
days. It was mint with an opening bid of $800 and I offered the seller
$900 and he refused and it is now relisted.
As for pricing, I consider $900 for a mint condition Tamron 300 a great
price.Although I saw one last month that had just closed that went for
$600 and it included the Tamron 1.4 converter. That was a hell of a
deal. Most of the mint condition 300's usually bring around $1000 or
better. At least that's what I've been seeing lately. I've got a Tokina
300 f2.8 that I bought about a year and a half ago for $1000 that was in
mint condition. I thought that was a good deal considering KEH had one
listed at the time for $1600. YMMV
later,
