Greetings!
Has anyone experience using a flash for IR illumination only with IR film?
I am tempted to try it with two sheets of unexposed but developed E6 film
over the head as per the suggestion at
http://www.encyclopediaofphotography.com/EoPtutorials1.html
It should take a bit of practice (and time/money) to get the
exposures right and I'm wondering if the T32 is powerful for across a
large room distance -- unsure what the ASA would be with the various films
anyway. I could add a zoom head to the flash. If the T32 is
marginally strong enough, a more costly option would be to get properly IR
transparent filter material which would let more IR light through than
"black" E6 film. However, I haven't seen any material like this that
wasn't expensive optical material (e.g. for in front of lenses).
A related question is whether the various flashes can be expected to have
similar IR emitance as a fairly direct function of their GN. I have a T32
and T20 but also a couple generic flashes banging around in the drawer.
Any leads/suggestions? I'll summarize off-list responses...
