I'm sorry, I don't know what it was someone put in my cornflakes last
weekend - a resurgence of argot, perhaps?. You are, of course correct,
and I have far too many cameras these days.
Actually, it was probably a bit of mild euphoria as well, since I had a
quite productive Saturday in which my RD was restored to full
functionality. In the past someone had dismantled the front of the lens
assembly to reconnect the photoresistor (tell-tale modernish yellow
heat-shrink sleeving on the wires) and reassembled it incorrectly - the
shutter speed ring was misplaced by one tooth when it was re-engaged
with the pinion that drives the selector drum[1] and the Flash guide
number setting widget was not engaged at all with the flashmatic
aperture setting ring[2].
Oh yes, and the aperture indicator needle is a bit more realistic now.
Only problem now is that f/11 and f/16 are indistinguishable.
[1] Which led to occasional strange behaviour with shutter speeds,
usually depending on which way you turned the ring, and occasionally
resulting in 1/60 being more like 1/15.
[2] Which meant that the flashmatic system didn't work at all.
