[OM] Airport X-Rays ???

I'm going on a trip tomorrow, my question is, does the airport 
security checkpoints ruin or damage the film?  They say "No", but 
then again, would they actually say "yes"?

So anybody have any comments on the quality of film (damage, color 
bleed, fade etc...) if I was to run it under the scanners???
