"Denatured alcohol" *is* "methylated spirits." Different names for essentially
the same stuff. According to the online version of the American Heritage
Dictionary of the English language,
>"denatured alcohol" (NOUN): Ethyl alcohol to which a poisonous substance, such
>as acetone or methanol, has been added to make it unfit for consumption.
"Methanol," a colourless, toxic, flammable liquid, CH3OH, used as an
antifreeze, a general solvent, a fuel, and a denaturant for ethyl alcohol.
Also called "carbinol," "methyl alcohol," "wood alcohol," or "wood spirits."
