so that the automated processors will produce a better print.
It is possible for a good print/enlarger operator to correct the color
balance. Often what happens with consumer printing, especially at the
one-hour labs, is the "channel" set for the film, balancing done on the
first frame in the strip, and the machine placed on "rock 'n roll" for the
rest, color balance be damned if the lighting is different. A good lab
will color balance for each individual frame.
