Hi Zuikoholics,
interesting thread, tripods and QR plates.
Use of cycle tire tubes and card board spacers is good but still allows the body
to rotate free while shooting down or up while mounted on a tripod head with a
long/heavy lens.
Loctie too is a good solution but messy, and it does require 30
0.000000e+00xtra torque
than the the one used for locking the QR screw into the body.
Easiest solution, do try it, is to stick two short strips of SCOTCH MAGIC TAPE
front to back on camera body/motor drive on left and right of the tripod socket.
Tighten the screw of QR plate.
Because of the wedge effect caused by such a thin layer of tape, the screw locks
solid.
