Mike,
I'm glad you reminded me of the Tiltall. I used one for years (years ago),
and loved it. As I've never shot with anything longer than a 200, it's
probably the answer for me. I remember it as being quite stable for so
light a tripod. Unfortunately, mine died. The aluminum legs screwed into
the head, and somehow, I managed to strip the threads on one leg. Couldn't
find anybody who could fix it. That reversing center column is great for
macro work.
