I've bought a lot of stuff on ebay, including my OM4, 4T, 3, and many
lenses. I've been very satisfied - less than 50roblems.
My "secrets":
- watch out for negative or no comments
- ask a bunch of questions
- don't overbid. All it takes is 2 competitive people to make things
ridiculous. Sniping helps you control yourself.
- and some real secrets I refuse to divulge!
The sellers seem to divide into three categories:
- dealers or semi-dealers who specialise (bargains unlikely)
- flea market harvesters who hardly know anything (maybe bargains,
if condition is good and not too many bidders)
- persons selling off excess/unwanted/legacy stuff (maybe bargains,
if not too many bidders)
Judge which & let it guide your bidding.
Ebay gives out a lot of info (past bids, feedback) on sellers and
other bidders. Use it when you really, really want something.
