Much of ones choice boils down to: working distance and perspective. The
implications of those two are rather profound, incl. such subjects as
flash to subject distance, ability to hand hold at 1/60th without
background blur when using a T series flash, amount of background blur,
distance from subject, etc.
For me the two are too close in focal length. My ideal combo has always
been a 135mm f/4.5 and a 50mm f/2. Likewise, a 90mm and a 135mm would be
too close in range.
If one could only have one macro, the 90mm f/2 would be a good start.
