Huh? Not the smart ones. An simple eBay average is now statistically
confounded by:
1) an average of all condition grades auctioned
2) an average of all classes of sellers and levels of guarantees
3) an average of all countries of origin.
I submit that a simple average of all sales for a particular item does
not its define market value, and is, most certainly, statistically
meaningless.
This argument doesn't even take into account value-added packaging, like
cases, filters, cables, caps, hoods, batteries, . . .

A major camera store owner told me a few weeks ago: "the student market
keeps the us in business." It is a case of cyclic supply and demand.
