I started using the 9V NiMH cells sold by Mouser under the GP brand name.
These incorporate a smaller plastic cased (?) cell which makes a more
compact cluster when the 2 batteries are put together.

Subject: Re: [OM] Question about OM1n MD
| That's why I used all 14 cells from the 2 Varta 9v NiMh when I did the
| rebuild on my M15v. As per the Oly FAQ. I figured that if it could
| handle 12 AA alkaline cells at 1.5v each (18v), then it should not have
| a problem using 14 1.2v cells from the 9v Varta (16.8v). I did mine
| over 2 years ago and it's still going strong with no problems to date.
| Only problem overall is that it is VERY crowded in the case with 14
| cells.
