Don't forget that with an OM-4T in "Auto" mode, the shutter speed dial
has no effect (except for the two red mechanical speeds of course). It
is the position of the indicator in the finder that determines whether a
regular Auto-flash fires or not, and it is the light that reflects off
the film into the SbC's that controls the actual shutter speed.
With a dedicated flash attached and the ready light on in the finder,
the camera's circuit will check to see if the meter display is above
"60" when the shutter is fired -- if so, it will NOT fire a regular
(non-Super FP) flash. If the display is at or below "60", it WILL
signal a regular flash to fire.
When an F-280 flash is set in Super FP mode, a signal is sent to the
OM-4T's cpu to inform it that is should fire the flash even if the
shutter speed is above "60".
