We cannot just say we need support from Olympus, we also need to
support them. A new mechanical camera is not cheap to make, are we
willing to pay $500 for a new OM1n.

It seems to me that the OM3Ti is the new OM1. The cost of
recapturing that OM1 refinement, building a mechanical metering
system would probably more than offset the savings of non-titanium
top and bottom plate. In todays industrial economy the mechanical
meter is probably much more costly than the sophisticated spot meter
in the OM3Ti. Finding a new well made mechanical camera for $500 is
just not going to happen. Besides, who would then buy the OM3Ti which
is already expensive due to low volume.
