Having spent many years in the retail industry I have seen many fine
examples of customer service, but I had one today that stands out from most.
It came from a Mr John Hermanson of CamTech. You see, I had this streak
that was consistently appearing in the photos I was taking with my OM-1. I
sent Mr Hermanson a scanned image of an example photo with this streak and
asked him if I needed my camera repaired. Instead of taking advantage of my
ignorance and telling me to send my camera in to him for repairs he simply
and straight-forwardly shared the following instructions,
"Remove lens and film. Set camera to B, fire shutter and look thru back.
You will see a string or hair hanging down inside camera. Remove hair. Use
camera."
Indeed, after following these instructions I did find a fine blonde filament
of lint. In fact, I had to use a magnifying glass in order to see it. You
see I am pushing 50 and my close-up vision left me several years ago.
Anyway, I wanted to share this with you all in case you are looking for a
honest and straight-up individual to deal with John Hermanson is who want.
Thanks
