Sadly not much time for active participation at the moment.
First "real" camera was an Olympus FTL in 1972. If only I had known the OM
system was only a few months away. Bought original FTL 28/35/50 & 135
lenses which I used until 1979 when I finally justified to myself the
purchase of a new OM-1n.
Started with 24/2.8, 35/2.8 and 75-150 zoom. Ended up with an OM-2n in
1980, sold the 24 and added a 21/3.5, 28/2 and 50/3.5. Traded the 35/2.8
for a 35-70/4 in 1983 and was happy with my little outfit of 2 bodies & 5
lenses until Zuikoholism caught up with me in the early 90's. Might have
had something to do with the abundant supply of cheap but good OM stuff on
the second hand market at this time with the rush of the masses towards
auto focus.
Like others who have admitted to this on the list, I now have more gear
than I need and not enough skill, but I get a kick out of using quality
gear and that's half the fun for me.
Favourite lenses now (especially for travel) are 21/3.5, 28/2,
35-70/3.5-4.5, 40/2, 85/2 and 200/5. When I go bush and weight is not so
important I swap the 85 for the 90/2 and the 200 for the 180/2.8. Around
home in the wet summer months I enjoy stalking frogs & insects with the
80/4 or the 135/4/5 on the telescopic extension tube, and a T32 on a macro
flash bracket.
Back to lurk mode.......
Cheers
