Send the buyer an e-mail message (if he/she hasn't already read your
message in the list), and explain the situation. Ask if it would be
possible to hold the 24/2.8 for a little while, while you find a
replacement. If the answer is "yes," find a replacement quickly. If the
answer is "no," send the lens and do without.
You've initiated a transaction and, IMHO, you have an ethical obligation
to carry it through if the buyer doesn't agree to a delay. To do otherwise
would be dishonorable and unfair to the buyer.
Just my humble opinion. Others are welcome to disagree. After all,
they're entitled to be WRONG once in awhile! :-)
