Thanks to everyone who replied to my question. I'd never thought of
glueing two Oly rear caps together but it's, obvious isn't it? (Shows
how dumb I am, I guess). Somebody mentioned that Oly rear caps get
loose with age ... they sure do! I bought some generic replacement caps
from Jessops in the UK that fit much better than my old Oly ones. After
all, they didn't cost much and it's (hopefully) a one-off purchase.
They're very plain in apperance and are made of a softer plastic than
the Oly caps - feels like PVC. The only thing is, I'm not sure whether
that kind of plastic might possibly give off a vapour that could spoil
the rear element coating or otherwise impair the lens - I hope not.
Does anyone know if there's a risk of that?
