Unless you want to use the flash non-TTL. Then the Remote Sensor comes in
to play. It is also used with any non-TTL (OM-10 or G) body. I think that
somehow it can be used with non-OM bodies, but I'm not sure the flash would
function properly. (:>)
Actually, non-TTL is sometimes the best way to do flash. Especially true
when there are high contrasts of subject to background. A good example is
macro or subjects on a porch at night with only the yard behind them.
Unless the subjects fill the frame, the TTL won't give good results.
