I recently saw an OM item on ebay that I was interetsted in. As I
recall, it was a 4T plus a bunch of other nice stuff. As is my usual
practice, I read all negative feedback. In this case, there was
exactly one, and it happened to be from a well known OM user. The
gist is that the seller had backed out of a transaction because his
employer had changed direction. In an attempt to see if I wanted to
risk bidding on this person's item, I jibed him a bit, via email, as to
whether a winning bidder in his auction could back out in a similarly
pressing circumstance. I think my example was if the winner's
spouse got pissed about the expenditure.
So this guy gets in a huff and gives the original seller, who he
backed out on, negative feedback, thinking he's being harassed.
Then he realizes his mistake and sends me a nasty note claiming it's
my fault for meddling in other people's business, and that I should
apologize to both parties.
I, of course, say, I'm sorry that the innocent party got screwed
again, but negative (or positive) feedback is the business of anyone
interested in an item up for sale. But maybe I should just keep my
mouth shut and avoid guys like this.
