The Wallace ExpoDisc (the size of a filter) fits over the camera lens and,
along with conversion factors supplied, allows using the TTL meter as an
incident meter. Reportedly it works very well.
I've kludged a similar approach using a styrofoam cup. Results are
surprisingly accurate.

I remember years ago seeing advertisements for a device that looked like
half a big ping pong ball that fitted over the lens for this purpose.
