I know this has come up often on the list now and
again. I was considering buying a Microtek
Scanmaker X6 EL (in part because I'm getting a good deal
on it at a local office store). I really haven't
been able to gauge from reviews on the 'net how
good this would be for my puspose, i.e. scanning
photographs. Anyone have any experience with this
flatbed scanner?
I know the supplied transparency adapter is not much
use, and I know it won't compare to a film scanner. At
this point, I would be scanning photos to put on a web
page. Any issues with the software/drivers etc? From
those who have made recent scanner purchases, are there
other good entry level flatbed scanners (~$100)? Someone
mentioned an Acer 620T or 640T? Your opinions would be
appreciated, on or off-list. Thanks.
Regards,
Ranjan
