I've tried all kinds of straps and always find myself going back to the same
thing - thin woven nylon. Something narrow enough to wrap around my hand
and wrist to keep it outta the photo, but wide enough not to chafe my neck.
I don't sling cameras over one shoulder so slippage isn't an issue. Lately
I shop for straps at a good local military surplus store. That way I get to
pick the softest but not too stretchy straps, and cut 'em to whatever length
I like.
Paracord is great too for lightweight cameras like my XA3. Soft paracord
also beats most devices for direct attachment to strap lugs, especially on
cameras with delicate champagne finishes. Add a nylon strap with good
quality hard nylon or Zytel clips at either end for quick release. Good
combo. Quiet too.
