It seems to be a common misconception that this would save you from paying
some duty, but apparently it makes no difference, see
www.hmce.gov.uk/notices/143.htm. I think the bottom line is to be prepared
to pay at least the same as you would from a UK source, but if at the final
account you have saved a few quid, celebrate it. Buying grey market goods
from B&H where available helps towards the initial saving as long as you
don't have to send them back there for work under warranty.
