Couldn't agree with you more, Gary. Despite the fact that I'm satisfied
with that Seriously 1 Heavy Lens I've mentioned already, it's a gross
mismatch with an OM body. And while the optical performance pleases me in
certain combinations of focal length and aperture, many of Viv's regular
lenses were just as good (or mediocre).
The best buy in Vivitar branded lenses - and ancient lenses in general - are
the presets. They're tiny, dirt cheap, oil on the iris doesn't matter much,
and they're sturdy enough to fetch a fair clout on the head of a thug. And
they're not yet classified as weapons in N.Y.C., Chicago or Wisconsin.
