Not true. The 357 (mine are also labeled SR44W) is a watch battery
specifically designed for continuous low drain applications, just like our
beloved OM's (at least the ones that use silver oxide batteries). I find the
357s last significantly longer in my OM-2S and OM-4 that regular SR44 cells.
If you can't find 357s then regular SR44/V76 cells are a good substitute.
Stay away from alkalines or lithiums though.
