Hi, all.

I wander if anyone has the info on the tolerances for mechanical and electronic
shutters. I
really doubt that they will be the same. Also recently I came across a repair
manual in which the
author stated that Nikon and other camera manufacturers(relax, he did not
include
Oly) have
to justify their claims of achieving speed of 1/4000 with a manual shutter.
I still think that a
good electronic design will be more reliable than a mechanical device in
general,
but of course
there are a lot of exceptions.

Can you give me reasons behind this? I am very curious. Passionate photographer
with no chance
to become a professional any soon always thought highly of OM gear, very, very
surprised to
hear this(also shows how out of touch I am, really, what do the professionals
use this days,
let's exclude digital domain).

Yes, you did get that body for free. I got mine for $185 with s/h( dont you
hate this
charges???). It also comes with 50 1.8 and a thyristor bounce flash. To be
honest, I liked the
camera so much that could have easily paid that amount for the body only(but
I am also known
irrational decisions maker, give me some creditthough, this was my limit). Still
it is less than
anything I have seen in the stores online.

Sorry, this is the necessary evil until our ITS guys fix the interface. It
always
cuts the last
sentence or two, I think have figured it now how much garbage to put at the
end so the message
body is left only, let's see.
