Well, it appears that my 12yr old daughter is interested in
photography. I bought her Kodak's "Joy of Photography", which she
likes. She's going to practice on her mom's Canon AE-1 Program. I
offered to buy her her own camera someday. I'd like to get her an OM-1,
but being able to share stuff with her mom may be important also. I
looked at the Canon A series and I don't like any of them really. The
AE-1 would be ok, but I don't like older, maybe unrepairable,
electronic cameras. I don't see a mechanical Canon camera compatible
with the FD lenses, so I'm a little stuck I guess. I think once she
uses on OM camera that she may prefer one, but she lives way too far
away for me to share it with her. Whatever I get her, I want her to
like it so that she uses it and I don't waste money on something that
sits on a shelf. I also considered Nikon, but they are all too
expensive or too old. I don't like the FM10 either. I'm going to wait
and see what she says about it later. I think she's coming up to visit
in May, so I'll let her use my OM-1. If she prefers it, then I'll get
that for her.
Be seeing you.
