I wouldn't feel relaxed at night anywhere in the city wandering around with
an s.l.r. and a tripod, for which reason the last time we had a good
snowfall I took out the Minox 35GL with just a cable release, thinking that
it was light enough to plonk down on any flat surface for a longish
exposure. I set it down on a snow covered pillar box and immediately froze
its battery out of action! It recovered next day though and I reminded
myself that next time it snows I'll take a piece of polystyrene ceiling tile
to stand it on.
According to the news, much of England is blanketed in snow today, but all
we've had in Birmingham is just a few insignificant flakes.
