:I've never tried it on my own om2sp but according to my trusty Shipman
:book the red, mechanical 1/60 provides an X-sync signal.
It does, but not when the batteries are removed or _completely_ drained; the
X-signal needs a certain minimal power (much less than the rest of the
electronics). This is a remarkable difference between the OM-4 and OM-3. The
3 triggers the flash even without batteries.
The x-synchronisation in manual 1/60 on the OM-4 is also disturbed when a
motor drive or winder is used. The flash is triggered, but the curtain
doesn't open.
