I've been away for a while and I don't know the thread on Cash Converters
but FWIW here's my six-pennyworth.
Cash Converters is a franchise so the level of photographic knowlwdge is
going to vary hugely from shop to shop. I find them over priced in general
but my experience with my local branch is to visit regularly and when
something has been in stock long enough, make an offer. I bought my
Hasselblad body this way and it has proved to be a good buy.
In the course of looking at the contents of the photo display I saw an
expensive Schneider medium or large format lens. I pointed out to the
assistant that it had no covers and it had acquired a good coat of dust on
the glass. He took it down and wiped it clean on the back of his tie. '
