How difficult would it be to remove the lens element in order to have it
re-coated?? Any optician can send a lens off to be stripped and
re-coated.....avoid if they say they "do it themselves".

One comment about the newer AR (anti-reflective ) coatings. The industry is
finally getting the product to a more stable and predictable stage. the early
ones had a noticable purple or green cast, but now the "better" AR coatings
are of a slightly beige-y tone..and are also much more durable than the
earlier versions. You will see this on the "factory coatings"..the in-house
aftermarket coatings are still colorful and not quite as durable.
